We all know everything. Communication is the limiting factor.
This thread is intended to be a collection of new trends in trash, great new garbage goings-on, or reinventions of recycling.
I read about a competition at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana that may be of interest to our younger members or family members of members. It is unlikely to be the only such effort to change our trashy ways. Hence, this new thread to share this kind of news.
In
Illinois Alumni September/October Issue 2009, page 13, was an article entitled 'A Computer Is a Terrible Thing to Waste'.
Twenty-one multidisciplinary teams at the University came up with useful items derived directly from e-trash in 2009. (Note e-trash is not bad language on BBs, but dead cell phones, not-so-game gameboys, moldy Macs, past-it PC's, predigital TV's, and the list goes on.)
The website for the 2010 competition is:

Unfortunately, the Gallery page is not up and running for those of us who must remain spectators.
Pass it on. Post news here.
